Cheese Biscuits

2 cups self-rising flour
1/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
3/4 cup milk (regular, evaporated or buttermilk)

Preheat oven to 450°F. In a medium bowl combine self-rising flour with shortening using a pastry cutter. Add cheddar and continue mixing. Mix in milk to make a soft dough.

Turn dough onto heavily floured board. Pat dough until about 1 inch thick, sprinkling with flour as necessary. Using biscuit cutter cut biscuits and place on a foil-covered cookie sheet. Bake at 450°F for 12-15 minutes.

After cutting, individual biscuit's may be frozen and baked as needed.
