Quick English Muffin Bread

5 1/2 - 6 cups flour
2 pkgs yeast
1 TBSP sugar
2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
2 cups milk
1 cup water

Grease (2) 9x5 inch bread pans and sprinkle with cornmeal. In a large mixing bowl combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt and baking soda. Heat milk and water until 120-130°. Add to dry mixture and beat well, 30 seconds on low and 3 minutes on high.) Stir in enough more flour to make a moist but stiff batter.

Spoon into prepared pans. Sprinkle top of dough with cornmeal. Cover. Let rise in warm place for 45 minutes. Preheat oven and bake at 400° for 25 minutes. Remove from pans immediately and cool.
