2 cups milk
1 egg
3/4 cup sugar
4-5 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp baking powder
raisins, ~1/3 box
caraway seeds, optional

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients and stir vigorously for 5 minutes. Pour into greased 9x5x3" bread pan. Bake at 350 for 1-1/4 hours. After 30 minutes of baking cut cross on top of bread from end to end and side to side. Return to oven. Cool for 10 minutes in pan then remove and cool on wire rack.
