French Silk Pie

9" pie shell, baked
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1-1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
3 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted
3 eggs

Topping:
1 cup whipping cream
2 Tbsp confectioner's sugar

Prepare and bake pie shell. Let cool. Beat butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add sugar. Beat in vanilla, cream of tartar and chocolate. Add one egg at a time beating for 3 minutes after each. Pour into pie shell. Cover and refrigerate 3-4 hours until set..

Just before serving prepare topping; in chilled bowl beat chilled whipping cream and 10X sugar until stiff. Top pie with whipped cream and chocolate curls if desired.
